Welcome to the Home Page of Knap's Independant Battery 'E', Pennsylvania Light Artillery.  Founded in 1971, Knaps Battery is a registered Non-Profit Corporation organized to educate the general public about the contributions of Western Pennsylvania to the American Civil War and the role of the artillery branch, 1861 - 1865. This is accomplished through battle reenactments, military drill and demonstrations, school programs, living history encampments, and memorial  ceremonies. The group owns two Full Scale 3-Inch Ordnance Rifles, accompanying Limbers and the necessary supporting accessories and camp gear,  

We are based in Western Pennsylvania, though also have
members from all over the United States.
